We are a free admission and student run performance venue on the campus of Oberlin College.
Our MissionHome to a world-loved stage, zine library, and famous giant Cat cookies, The Cat in the Cream Coffeehouse has stood since 1975 as Oberlin College's only free admission performance venue. We are a solely student run performance venue in Oberlin, Ohio that prides itself in working to bring student and professional performers from across the world to Oberlin’s campus.
Our stage has been home to art forms of all mediums, whether spoken word, theatre, dance, workshops, community events, student activist meetings, amongst many other forms of live performance. We seek to serve the Oberlin community as a space where people of all identities can feel welcome, and where art from across the world can be appreciated and enjoyed. |
What We Offer
The Cat in the Cream hosts performances across all mediums of art. Members of Oberlin College are welcome to request to reserve our space. We offer a venue that seats 325 persons, with open floor and chaired seating arrangements available. As we pride ourselves in offering a venue that is accessible, we do not allow ticketed admissions. In addition, our venue is an alcohol free establishment. The Cat is only open during performances, and so we encourage student organizations across all interests to request a reservation. During performances, we sell our world famous Cat cookies, coffee, and assortments of tea, and also have our Zine library available for patrons to explore.
